How does it affect me?
To detox or not to detox….

The Goals of Detox

3. Energy to accomplish daily tasks.

6. Weight management.
How do I get there?
What do I need to do and how long does it take?
It is really up to you on how far you want to take this experience of detox.
Are you a first-timer, intermediate or advanced participant?
At any level, you can still benefit. It is best to make it a lifestyle and not just a one-time experience.
Do you want to try the detox for one meal, one day, or one week?
Or go the distance for a 10 day, 21 days, month trial, or more?
The options are endless.
Here are a few different ways to detox, and how to work it into your life on a regular basis
Try fasting two meals a week on non-exercise days. For example, a Tuesday and Thursday. Make sure you don't have an overly busy schedule. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of water, fluids, vegetable juices, etc.
Try one day a week eating only raw fruits and vegetables, or soups during the winter. It is essential to make sure you don't have a heavy schedule on the day you select
Interested in making it a seven-day experience?
Cut the coffee and teas, sweets and sugars.
No sodas regular or diet.
No white foods.
No bread or dairy.
Make healthy choices like lean protein.
Eat at regular times.
Want to go the distance and make it a lifestyle?
Eat only organic fruits and vegetables, fresh fish, and lean proteins.
Keep a journal on how you feel after you eat certain foods.
What are your energy level and mood like?
Or, have you considered an organ detox?
One organ or system at a time.
It will take a little more planning and scheduling, but it's certainly a good way to focus on each body part.
You may experience headaches if you are staying away from coffee. If you are cutting out all sugars, you may have a few days of feeling tired, irritable, and maybe a little out of sorts emotionally. This should pass within the first week.
Keep an eye on your bowel movement and urination color. You may experience some cramping or discomfort.
Remember, EVERYBODY is unique and may have very different experiences. The best advice I can give you is to go slow and steady. Think of it as a lifestyle and not a quick fix!
The benefits far out-way the possible momentary distress.
